Grafton Cottage Garden – Open for ART

Keen gardeners Margaret and Peter Hargreaves from Barton-under-Needwood, Staffordshire, will be opening their idyllic English cottage garden again this year to raise vital funds for the Alzheimer’s Research Trust’s work at Nottingham University. -
Middle-aged singles ‘at greater dementia risk’
3rd July 2009Middle-aged people living alone have twice the risk of developing dementia and Alzheimer’s disease in later life compared with married or cohabiting people, while being widowed or divorced in mid-life carries three times the risk.

Dementia research funding must triple, say experts
30th June 2009The UK’s leading dementia charities today (30 June) united with eminent scientists to urge the government to commit to a national dementia research strategy and triple annual investment in research to £96 million within five years.
